About Us

My name is Valerie. I grew up in a small town outside of Philadelphia. We currently live in Wilmington, DE. I am a Preschool teacher. Many people tell me "I am a saint" for teaching preschool, but what they don't realize is how much preschoolers actually teach YOU! My job is craziness, tiring, rewarding and amazing every single day. I am a bartender on the weekends which allows me to create cocktails and meet many new and interesting people.

I love to travel and LOVE to plan things to do while on vacation. You can NEVER research too much. I take pictures, A LOT of them. A normal seven day vacation can result in 2000 photos. People who know me realize this and accept it. Just smile and it goes a lot smoother. I hate taking pictures of myself. I get uncomfortable and I would prefer another person in the picture.

I love to cook and rarely make the same recipe twice. What can I say, I get bored! I always take pictures of my food and cocktails. I love Country Music and if it isn't played on 92.5 there is a pretty good chance I never heard of it. I love to drink wine and try new cocktails out. I enjoy scrapbooking and wish I had more time to do it. I love holidays (expect Halloween) and an outfit for everyone is included. I love obsessed with anything pumpkin. The saying "You don't go to college to find your husband, you go to find your bridesmaids" is true for me. In college, I met some of my best friends.

In 2010, I married a true gentleman. He realizes what marriage truly means and never forgets to show me how much he loves me. He is from Philadelphia where he grew up in what him and his friends call "the neighborhood." He has an amazing group of friends whom still see each other once a week. He is in sales and enjoys every minute of it.

I treat my dog, Lloyd like my child and will continue to do so until I have children.

My family lives five minutes from our house and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I am the oldest of two. My sister Alyson is two and half years younger than I. It was tough when we were children but now I wouldn't have it any other way. She recently moved home from VA and I am excited to have her back in DE for the first time since 2005I am super close with my Mom and call her almost every day for advice, questions, etc. My Dad is my handyman, who is always willing to help me out.

When I married Charlie, I gained another family as well. I couldn't be more thankful for the family I received. I have two sister in laws, and two brother in laws as well as two nieces and two nephews.
